They should have their rights in the Office of Fair Trading or trading standards or consumer to check directly.

Like a number of problems you might be argued that the problem had been sold unsuitable for this purpose.

For example, I had a washing machine that broke three times in 1 year, I requested a refund, since I could not wash him, that's not as sold.

It will take the consumer to prove his fitness, but (the supplier and the manufacturer does not prove) that it is appropriate.

If the store where you bought it, you have the complaint to the manufacturer who, in violation of trade rules, code of conduct be provided, if the supplier is responsible. The faster the complaint, the better.

Oh ... I almost forgot to mention, but you can file a complaint on electrical items up to six years after the date of purchase file () little known fact.

As part of the sale and supply of Goods Act 1994 into the United Kingdom, you have a very good example for the repair or replacement. The law provides that all items be purchased, must take a reasonable time and do work, which has bought to. The limitation period for claims is 6 years.
And if that does not know not to say, do not buy any extended warranty, what does.

It is best to check your receipt / instructions. Most cameras come with a warranty of 12 months, but may receive a security over time or pay for a title.
